Description: CANCELLED The aim of the talk is to shed light on the tremendous public health urgency that we are facing in light of the rapidly growing epidemic of dementia that will overwhelm our healthcare system. Our approach to research in cognitive diseases has been historically expensive and a 100% failure. Today we have incredibly impotent symptomatic drugs that don't do anything to slow the disease and we have abandoned families experiencing this horrible disease without any hope. Yet there is plenty of evidence that lifestyle intervention can not only help with the symptoms but, if instituted early enough, abate and reverse the disease process. It is time that we try in a new and proven approach to these diseases.
