Description: Due to a growing awareness of the age-related risk of cognitive impairment and dementia, an increasing number of adults are worried about suffering from a decline in their cognitive and functional abilities. What should we tell our patients, colleagues, friends, and family members who ask us, as neurologists, what they should be doing to remain mentally fit? Of equal importance, what are the most important things that we should do for ourselves to help sustain brain health? This talk will address these issues by reviewing evidence-based recommendations for promoting healthy cognitive aging and by discussing strategies that may facilitate greater success in reaching one's brain health goals.
