Description: This interactive didactic will review the evidenced-base, conservative therapies used in Parkinson's disease. Included in this talk is the role of socialization, massage, and exercise in Parkinson's disease, as well as a review of the supplement and vitamin therapies that have actually been studied in the literature of Parkinson disease. This talk will not include a complete evaluation of all herbs and supplements that patients decribe taking.
Completion Message: Participants should become familiar with the data (or paucity thereof) available for complementary therapies in parkinson disease, such that they can improve their understanding and offer their patients an open dialog about risks and potential benefits.
