Description: Join us for the series, "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants", highlighting five "Neuro Giants" who will take us on their personal journey in neurology and how they have contributed to the evolution of neurology. The description of this journey will start with why I decided to go into medicine and why I decided to become a neurologist and then a behavioral and cognitive neurologist. In addition to the altruistic elements of being a clinician, neurology unlike many specialties, has several important aspects that make working in this specialty very rewarding, including the ability to use divergent thinking and deductive reasoning. In addition, unlike many specialties in medicine, neurologists are able to work with patients suffering with a large variety of diseases and thus our specialty requires exploration.
