Description: As a growing number of studies have focused attention towards pediatric concussion and mild traumatic brain injury, new guidelines have arisen to help clinicians diagnose and manage these patients in their practices. This session will focus on an update to managing pediatric concussion in the acute period, and the often seen chronic sequelae that may present in the clinic. Faculty will present evidence for addressing the challenging questions that clinicians may encounter regarding kids and sports participation.
Completion Message: Participants should be familiar with management of acute concussion in the pediatric population, as well as persistent post-concussion symptoms. In addition, they should be able to identify risk factors and premorbid conditions that may contribute to chronic recovery.
