Description: | Advances in headache therapy have been rapid over the recent past and will impact the practice of clinicians dealing with patients with primary and secondary headache disorders. Faculty will present an update on the most recent advances in the care of patients with major primary and secondary headache disorders and a strategy on how to optimize the use of long-established therapies. Advances in the medical and surgical management of epilepsy syndromes have been numerous over the recent past and will impact the practice of clinicians dealing with patients with seizures and epilepsy syndromes. Faculty will present an update on the most recent advances in the care of patients with seizure disorders and epilepsy syndromes disorders and a strategy on how to intengrate these advances in clinical practice. This program complements Therapy in Neurology I: Neurological Infectious Disease and Neuro-oncology, Therapy in Neurology II: Neurocritical Care and Neuromuscular Disease, and Therapy in Neurology IV: Movement Disorders and Stroke, but covers independent topics. |
Completion Message: | Participants should be able to implement an evidence-based treatment approach to major primary and secondary headache disorders; describe the most recent pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment advances and how to best integrate them into clinical practice; describe the medical and surgical advances in the treatment of epilepsy; and implement an individualized and evidence-based treatment approach to patients presenting with seizure disorders in clinical practice. |
