C165 - Current Management of Incidental and Asymptomatic Cerebrovascular Lesions
Event Time: | Wednesday May 8, 2019 7:00 am to 9:00 am |
Topic(s): | Cerebrovascular Disease and Interventional Neurology, Foundations in Clinical Neurology for APPs |
Director(s): | Robert Brown MD, FAAN |
Description: | The use of non-invasive brain and vascular imaging with CT and MRI scanning has continued to increase rapidly. This increase in imaging has led to the frequent detection of asymptomatic or incidental neurovascular conditions, including arteriovenous malformations, cavernous malformations, aneurysms, and carotid stenoses. There is considerable controversy in the management of these conditions which are very commonly seen in clinical practice. Faculty will review the evaluation and management of these asymptomatic neurovascular conditions. |
Completion Message: | Participants should become familiar with the optimal evaluation and management of asymptomatic neurovascular conditions, including unruptured arteriovenous malformations and cavernous malformations, unruptured intracranial aneurysms, and asymptomatic carotid stenoses. The participant will become aware of the most recent clinical trial and cohort study data, the available guidelines, and answers to the questions that commonly arise in clinical practice. |
