Description: The last two decades have seen an explosion in endovascular treatments gaining standard of care indications for stroke and cerebrovascular disorders. Mechanical thrombectomy is now not only the standard of care in conjunction with IV tPA for acute ischemic stroke, but one of the most powerfully efficacious therapies in all of medicine. Most brain aneurysms including wide neck and complex aneurysms can now be treated safely with excellent outcomes with endovascular therapy. Carotid stenting, intracranial stenting, and angioplasty continue to accumulate evidence for optimum indications. This course will discuss the scientific evidence as well as tested clinical protocols for stroke systems of care, and clinical case scenarios to drive home critical learning for the student and practitioner.
