Quantitative Gait Analysis in Neurologic Conditions: Neurodevelopmental Disorders as a Case Example

Event Time: Tuesday April 24, 2018 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm
ELA Type:
Topic(s): Child Neurology and Developmental Neurology
Director(s): Rujuta Wilson MD
Description: Motor impairments are prevalent in neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder. Many of our current standardized motor assessments mostly capture developmental milestones and rely on a child’s ability to follow complex commands. Quantitative and objective measures of motor function can aid in the identification of subtle and specific motor abnormalities in children with varying cognitive abilities. This quantitative gait analysis measure can also be used in other relevant areas of neurology such as movement disorders and traumatic brain injury.
