Description: A growing body of acupuncture research over the last 2 decades has yielded new evidence in the treatment of various neurologic conditions including migraine, tension headache, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, peripheral neuropathy, fibromyalgia, spasticity and stroke rehabilitation. Acupuncture research and practice present unique challenges including proper blinding, standardized regimens and dosing. A critical overview of the evidence will address indications for acupuncture referral and the role of acupuncture as an adjunct therapy in various neurologic conditions.
