C151 - Cerebrovascular Disease III: Update on Neuroimaging Modalities and Endovascular Therapies for Acute Ischemic Stroke

Event Time: Wednesday April 25, 2018 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Topic(s): Cerebrovascular Disease and Interventional Neurology, Neurohospitalist
Director(s): Philip Gorelick MD, MPH, FAAN
Description: Since the approval of intravenous (IV) alteplase and the clearance of mechanical clot retrieval devices for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS), stroke management has substantially changed. Through case-based presentations, faculty will facilitate discussion of indications for IV alteplase, how neuroimaging may help select patients for AIS therapies, and update the use of endovascular interventions. This program complements C116: Cerebrovascular Disease I: Prevention, C129: Cerebrovascular Disease II: Update on Guidance-based Diagnosis and Management of Hemorrhagic Stroke, and C166: Cerebrovascular Disease IV: Telestroke, but covers independent topics.
Completion Message: Participants should be able to identify indications for intravenous alteplase in acute ischemic stroke treatment, apply neuroimaging modalities to select patients for acute ischemic stroke treatment, and be familiar with indications for endovascular interventions.
