Description: The program consists of four sessions covering motor nerve conduction studies; sensory nerve conduction studies; nerve conduction techniques, such as repetitive nerve stimulation, F waves, and H reflexes; and needle EMG. In small, hands-on group sessions, faculty will first demonstrate and then supervise attendees performing these techniques. The presentations will also cover the clinical utility and technical pitfalls of these techniques. Attendees rotate through each of the sessions.
Completion Message: Participants should be able to describe fundamentals of nerve conduction and needle examination, list electrodiagnostic approaches to common problems encountered in the EMG laboratory, and recognize common technical pitfalls and artifacts.
