Description: Advances in knowledge regarding the biology, diagnostic tools, and treatment have impacted the understand of and management of concussion. The presentations will facilitate a discussion with the audience of the pathogenesis, fluid and imaging biomarkers, diagnostic approach, management of common post-concussion symptoms and chronic sequelae of repeated concussion and subconcussive head trauma.
Completion Message: Participants should be able to discuss the underlying pathogenesis of concussion; describe the current advances in fluid and imaging biomarkers for concussion and their current and future role in clinical practice; describe the approach to the diagnosis of concussion and management of post-traumatic headache; discuss the management of the most common symptoms of concussion; and describe the current understanding of chronic sequelae of concussion and the approach to management and rehabilitation.
