Description: This session explores applications of physician-patient communication techniques to the practice of neurology. These studied communication strategies have been shown to not only improve patient health outcomes, and provide physicians tools to easily handle a variety of common challenging situations, but also to improve physician wellbeing through reduction in burnout. This presentation will involve a review of the field, as well as interactive segments demonstrating the application of specific communication techniques to the practice of neurology. The material presented will be valuable for practicing neurologists at any phase in their career, as well as trainees.
