The QI Innovation Award recognizes research and/or quality improvement (QI) projects designed to improve safety and/or quality in practice. Favor will be given to those applicants that demonstrate innovative and forward-thinking approaches, as well as measurable and replicable improvement. Two recipients will be selected each year from the following categories: Medical Students, Residents/Fellows, Physicians, Practicing Neurologists, and CareTeams.
Recipients are expected to give a short presentation of their research or care improvement project during the 72nd AAN Annual Meeting.
Recipient will receive:
- Certificate of recognition
- $1000 prize
Medical Students: To be eligible a candidate must have participated in the research or QI project while the candidate was enrolled in an accredited medical school.
Residents/Fellows: To be eligible a candidate must have participated in the research or QI project while the candidate was enrolled in an accredited neurology residency/fellowship and completed within one year of completing the residency/fellowship.
Physicians: To be eligible a candidate must be a licensed physician.
Practicing Neurologist: To be eligible a candidate must be board eligible in neurology.
Care Teams: To be eligible candidates must have participated in the research or QI project in a healthcare setting. This category is intended to recognize care teams who may not fall into the above categories, such as, Advanced Practice Providers.
To be eligible for the award, the applicant must submit:
- Project summary
- Current curriculum vitae
- Abstract or Research Report (1 page summary of project)
