The QI Innovation Award recognizes research and/or quality improvement (QI) projects designed to improve safety and/or quality in practice. Favor will be given to those applicants that demonstrate innovative and forward-thinking approaches, as well as measurable and replicable improvement.
Two recipients will be selected each year. One recipient will be recognized for utilization of Axon Registry data to drive quality improvement in practice. The second recipient will be recognized for driving quality improvement in practice or increased patient safey via other data such as internal quality improvement data or external registry data.
Recipients are expected to give a short presentation of their research or improvement project during the 72nd AAN Annual Meeting in Toronto.
Recipient will receive:
- Certificate of recognition
- $1000 prize
Applicants must have executed a quality improvement or patient safety project. Promissory or protocol proposals are not be eligible. Applicants must provide initial data at the time of submission and follow-up data if available. In process projects are not eligible.
Applicants do not need to be AAN members and all are encouraged to apply, including care teams. Financial awards are given to the person who completed the application for the team. Medical students, nurses, advance practice providers, physicians, and other quality improvement specialists are eligible to apply.
To be eligible for the award, the applicant must submit:
- Project summary
- Current curriculum vitae
- Abstract or Research Report (1 page summary of project, which should specify quality improvement data source: Axon Registry, internal, or external registry)
